DMHC Website Readiness Checklist

21 checks across the five areas reviewers care about most. Use it to audit your member sites before the next submission cycle. No sales pitch — just the list we run ourselves before any Canopy site goes live.

01

Provider directory accuracy

  • Provider directory is published in a structured, machine-readable format (not a PDF or flat HTML table)
  • Each provider record includes specialty, accepting-new-patients status, languages, and locations
  • Directory is reviewed and updated on a defined cadence with a documented owner
  • Last-reviewed date is recorded for each record or for the directory as a whole
02

Timely access & disclosures

  • Timely-access standards language is present and current
  • Required member rights and grievance disclosures are linked from every site
  • Language assistance / non-discrimination notice is present and accessible
  • Urgent care and after-hours guidance is clearly surfaced
03

Accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA)

  • Site meets WCAG 2.1 AA through native markup — not an overlay widget
  • All images have meaningful alt text; decorative images are marked as such
  • Color contrast meets AA thresholds across text and interactive elements
  • Site is fully operable by keyboard and tested with a screen reader
  • Forms have associated labels and clear error messaging
04

Audit & change control

  • There is an audit log of who changed what, and when
  • Content changes are attributable to a named user
  • Prior versions of key pages can be recovered
  • Access to publishing is role-controlled
05

Operational readiness

  • Hosting, SSL, and backups are managed with a defined recovery process
  • A single accountable owner exists for the site (not split across vendors)
  • Network-wide updates can be pushed consistently across member sites
  • A defined process exists to onboard a new practice to network standards
